Default Anyone installing 2011 side mirror glass on 2010?

I want the 2011 side mirrors since they have the integrated "blind spot" area. The glass can be purchased for around $80 (total, for both LH and RH). Installation seems fairly straight forward but I'm a little nervous to try it without some advise from others. I've attached the Ford PDF for replacing the glass.

My Ford dealer wants $50 per side in labor! You gotta be kidding me. At first he said $100 per side, when I laughed, he brought it down to $50.

Having had these mirrors on a new mariner, and now on my 2011 mustang, they are amazing. I still look over my shoulder, but really you don't have a blind spot once you get used to using both mirrors

Wouldn't be the first time.

I've swapped over mirrors before on my previous car, went to wide angle, blue tinted, heated mirrors.

It would be nice if these were heated.

NP. Kevin at Clevenger Ford sells them for $85.95 shipped (plus tax if you are in CA). His phone number is 1-800-570-5554. You might have to mention you're from the Mustang forum.

My local dealer quoted me $32 each but I think he was looking at the 2010 side mirror glass.

Well I just sent an email to my parts guy at the local Ford dealership. Im part of a Mustang club they sponsor so I get discounted parts. Ill see what he prices me out at. I just ordered another set of GT emblems from him so I can have them painted satin black while I drive the car and not have holes in the fender.

Is this for seeing TWO lanes over? Because if you have your side mirrors adjusted properly, there is no blind spot one lane over unless you are in a curve in which case you should do a head check anyway. Of course, 95% of cars on the road have the side mirrors improperly adjusted to show the same view as the windshield-mounted rear view mirror.
