SHR Louvers on, but they made a mess!

DAMMIT!! I was trying to kid myself into thinking i was the oly one who would notice the gaps were off. I guess I'm being too nice here with these people. Four fuc* ups on my car now in a row. I don't even want to deal with the morons. The panels are trimmed already, at least the guy did a good job with that. I think i may just take the damn thing somewhere local and get them to pull the louver and fix the f'in mess this douche made of my car. How much do you guys think pulling these off, cleaning the douche mess and sticking them back on would run me. I can't see it being that expensive to cut them out, scrape off the crap, and stick them back on.

$75 sounds about right to me.
Although they can get them out from the outside, they prefer from the inside.
Take your trim panels off yourself so all they have to do, is cut and reglue.
They'll be more incline towards a cheaper labor price that way.
By yeah, don't go back to the previous guy, whatever you do.

I would go back to the dealer and let the manager see what a sloppy job his employee did and tell them you want it fixed RIGHT by another person. It looks like when they install it, they didn't use a piece to help hold it in place so the louver dropped some. That's why you see the adhesive at the top. Tape helps, but they are supposed to put a guide pin on the bottom to help it seal right.
It sucks that it will have to be removed, but just think, once it's done RIGHT, it ain't gonna fall off!
I think I paid my dealer $125 for them to install mine. I know it sounds high, but at least they didn't leave goop all around the outside of the window. Prices will vary from dealer to dealer.

Most of the time, the alignment pins gets cut off in the process of removing the glass.
But while the urethane is still soft, center the louvers properly and use 2" tape to secure them from shifting until the urethane has cured.
The pins are not a must have.

In the How Too pictures here, the guy took the cut off pins to use them as support as well as to make sure the gaps were the same.....but if you know what you are doing (like yourself) then the guide pins would not be needed. Obviously the guy who installed the OP's louvers is an idiot.

sorry to see that man. you have my favorite 10 car and it's just a shame the bull**** you keep running into.
I'd call the Dealership and bitch up a storm and see if they'll comp you the install fee at a local shop you trust. It can't hurt to ask. I agree about not letting them try again. This is the 3rd f'up right?
