Default Installed Saddle Leather in my Sunset Gold

Ever since I saw a Metallic Gold 1970 Mach 1 with Ginger interior ... I've been wanted to install the Saddle leather in my car. Ford only offered Sunset Gold with Black so it was never a factory option.

I put can ad on Craiglist and found a guy that wanted to swap interior's ... only problem was I had heated seats and he didn't ... so we had to swap the Bucket Upholstery instead of just the entire seat.

Here are some pics ... including picks of the factory heaters ....

I really like that with the gold. Definitely a "to do" item...

Yes. .. it's been a long day ...

I got up at 8:00 AM, removed my interior and removed the upholstery from my buckets. Took about 2 hours ...

The swap car arrived around 11:00 AM ... We pulled his entire interior and then installed the black rear seats and door panels in his car.

Then I removed the Saddle leather from his buckets and replaced with my black leather. Once his car was done he hit the road for home ...

I took a 30 minutes breather and installed the door panels and rear seats in my car. Then installed the Saddle upholstery on my buckets and installed them in the car ....

You scored big time. Looks good. I'm biased, but I think it's the best colored interior. I can't even imagine someone wanting to swap away from it.

His car was Red ... he was very happy to get the black interior. He had bought the car used so didn't have a choice at the time.

As a fellow sunset gold lover I wish I could have gotten the saddle in my car also. Looks great.

Looks good. Wish I could've had the option for my Red Candy GT.

Hey, guys. New poster but long time viewer here. I was the guy dmhines swapped interiors with.

Dan, the car is looking great. The saddle really looks good with the gold. There was something about the saddle with red candy metallic that bugged me a little bit. I just thought it clashed just a tad. Either way, I couldn't be happier with the black interior. Always been a black on black fan. Overall process was easier than I thought it would be- although, Dan was the one doing the grunt work! Either way, great job and congrats on the new interior. My buddies at work couldn't tell if the black leather was factory installed or switched out!
