Default 2010 tach light

This may be a dumb question, but is the red light supposed to be lit up when driving? I just noticed my light was on and I have owned it for 6 months now. My wife thinks i just haven't noticed this before.

What red light?? My 2010 display will turn bright red when I hit redline and back off when the RPMs drop...is that what you're talking about?

Im sure thats the Rev limiter indication. I personally dont recommend banging off the limiter if you can help it.

i dont see an upshift cutout in the cluster itself. i also wonder what red light you are referring to?

seen here(side note, this looks like a pre-production cluster):

I am sure he is talking about how the MyColor will pulse the right RPM gauge to Red when you hit the rev limiter. If you are in night mode with the gauge set to Red, its known that the pulsing is invisible since the gauge is already red.

on the picture above, it is the light that goes from the 6 to the 8 on the right side of the tach. I never noticed that it was on before, but it is now on all the time. I have my gauges set to purple. I have never driven it so that the light should be if its meant for cutting out the engine.

Yes, it's just the notification on where your redline is at. You'll notice most cars have this type of notification in their gauge it just part of the sticker.
