Default Anyone know if vinyl stripes will survive under the hood

So all you have to do is look at my car to know i am seriously afflicted with moditis. I find myself lately wanting to do some underhood stuff and eyeballing the cervinis hood to put that under hood stuff under if that makes sense.

Anyway, i have been looking for a more attractive radiator cover. I know you can buy some painted ones that are stock plastic from DG custom auto, but they are like $350. I have this idea that the aluminum mishimoto air diversion plate would be easier to have painted and would be metal not plastic like the factory one. i want to have my stripes ran on it after getting it painted grabber blue. Anyone ever seen one of those in person? I am trying to figure out what those slightly angled down front edges on that part do. It appears to me that those angled parts cover the tops of the headlights when the hood is up. the portion you see from under the hood i mean. Just wondering if that is what it actually does, i can't find pics of one installed to see for sure.

That leads me to the cervinis hood, I know the underside of that hood is finished and smooth, i was thinking about running the stripes under the hood too. i presume since lots of folks stripe radiator covers with vinyl that vinyl stripes under the hood would survive too right?

I could see them surviving on the radiator cover, not so much on the top of the hood. Paint it yourself with some high temp paint. Its not like it has to be super perfect if people are only going to see it at car shows.

I have a "Ford" blue oval decal under the hood of my sixxer directly over the intake and it has been there and survived for 5 yrs now. Just make sure you use a high quality vinyl and not the cheap stuff.

cool, i would thin it would survive, i need to ask the local stripe guy. i was hoping some of the guys around here big on car shows with lots of under hood would know. they aren't in 10's though now that i think about it, so i would have been better off in the 05-09 forums with thins perhaps.
