Default Stage 1 of under hood blingage done...

i know this sort of stuff isn't for everyone so if you don't like polished billet under the hood, surf away now. anyhow, all the stuff i ordered from UPR came in today. I never would have though $300 worth of polished billet would fit in one tiny box. lol my wife was like that stuff cost what? women... i just pointed to her third coach purse and said not as much as that. anyway, i ordered that chrome billet fuse box lid from SHR today so that will be going on next week probably.

I still ha vent received the battery and master cyl covers, the hood lift kit, and the strut tower covers. Next month will be a painted radiator cover, i wish there was something i could do with the air box for the blower. i have seen those painted covers for the rad res, i really want one but apparently there are none for the roush intercooler res so i didn't see the point. so stage one, here it is:

I'm debating between just going grabber blue with my stripes on the rad cover or getting something a bit more custom painted that will stand out a bit more at shows when the hood is open. i was leaning towards the GB with stripes, but this caught my eye:

That one with the checkered flag with a GB base, but rather than checkered flag i like the American flag with the ford logo on it. that costs a lot more, but it would look pretty cool under there.

I would go with the grabber blue cover w/ stripes, the billet looks nice but I can't justify spending that much for something like that. They look bigger then other caps I have seen aswell.

As far as rad. cover, I say get it Grabber Blue, and paint your stripe style on it. That always looks good.

My cal pony cars hood lifts came in and the batt and master covers. I am glad I didn;t get the painted ones. I didn;t think about the intake for the blower repositioning the throttle body. i had to do some cutting to get the master cyl cover to fit. Looks good, but the paint would have been toast. I'll take some pics tomorrow. It really cleans up the engine bay a lot to hide the batt and master and those hood struts I ordered are painted grabber blue with black shocks, did away with the prop rod and no more worrying some asshat is going to break a had messing around at a car show and knocking the prop rod away.

Looks good, Shane. I'm jealous of that black thing sitting atop the engine. :-)

I know the merits of a STB are debatable but they look so nice. Is there one that will fit over the M90 on the '10?

you need to paint the valve covers to add some color..also to cover up the UGLY **** poor looking color/stains of the stock covers.

if your just going to change them..its not all that hard..i probably woulda been done in like little over an hour but since i painted them it took like 5hrs. basically you remove airbox, battery, loosen dipstick remove coils, unplug almost everything and move it out of the way..just remember when you are taking the covers off..I would have a friend with you so you can lift it up high to clear the connection inside the cover. its really not that hard..just need some silicone gasket maker for the joint and i reused my gasket. Its really not that hard you just keep unplugging stuff till it is out of the way..you cant mess up since the plugs can only go where they belong and will only plug into what they are supposed to
