Default the comfort setting

2010 GT

Base model

Plain, hard, lame, ugly torturous seats.

I want to replace them, but I've never bought after market seats before, and from some of the things I've heard, some of the seats that you buy might be as bad of the OEM ones.

Any recommendations on after market seats? I do not want racing seats, per se. I don't mind them high backed or side bolstered. I just don't want them without cushion. I'd like for them to look nice and be comforting for long drives.

Price is not my biggest concern, but I don't want to soak over a grand in two seats.

Any thoughts or any things you all have tried that you were very pleased with?

Corbaeu (sp) has great seats.....they are "technically" racing seats, but they are the best in the bizz...VERY comfortable.
Problem with any sort of worth while seat upgrade, expect to sink some cash into them. If you want comfort and looks that is.

I would wait to see if Ford Racing releases the Boss & GT500 Recaro's in the catalog next year. Direct replacement!

I'd start searching the grave yards. Or Craigslist!

What you gonna do about air bags ?? If you remove them the air bag warning light will be lit on your dash all the time.

One thing you can do is search for an auto upholstery shop in your area. I found one with a past car of mine and had them put leather in to replace the cloth seats. They basically peeled the cloth off and reupholstered them with leather. They gave me a "padded leather" option which basically added padding evenly with foam in pocketed areas under the leather. Make sense? That would probably be cheaper than buying new seats. I paid about 600 bucks to have them do the front and back and it looked awesome.

If I replace the seats then the airbag light stays on? I didn't know that.

I hadn't thought of this. The seats as they are now have no support or much cushion, so this idea has me wondering if adding leather could make a big enough difference. Will think more about this.

Take the stock seats to an upholstery place to have them custom fit and covered. A lot of Harley riders do the same with their seats. Many places will custom fit the seat to fit you the best, providing more support, cushion, etc.
