HID Projectors housing

Hi,

I've just treated my 06 GT with a new 5.0 GT. The local dealers in Gulf countries import the GT with the standard headlights. The only mustang they bring with HID is the GT500 as it comes standard with HID.

Now am looking to convert my GT to HID and have seen the HID kits in the standard housing but did not like the look nor the light output. so am looking for projectors and HID package. I've seen the aftermarket projectors and they all come with the halo ring and I don't want to have halos. and from reading the posts for OEM HID conversion in the forums it looks like that I need to convert the whole light to HID which will cost alot cause I'd need to have the housing + balasts + wiring harnes (Someone has posted that it will cost nearly 5000$ for the whole thing).

my question is can I have the OEM HID housing and retorfit it with an aftermarket HID kit? will it work or there is more to it?

Appreciate all ideas.

Thanks for the info Spitfire.

I'd need to be sure that this will work as you know the OEM housing is not cheap (1100 $ for both sides).

By the way, do you know the bulb type of the HID housing?
