Default Repairing licence plate holes drilled crooked

Tried nudging it up and starting a new hole, but the bastards drilled it in exactly the wrong spot. The dude working on it in the shop must have had one leg shorter than the other.

Any suggestions for fixing the rear valence? When they drilled into the plastic to place the license plate frame and paper tags, it got installed crooked.

Maybe a quarter inch lower on the right side....very noticeable. Anyone know of any magic filler material I can use to fill up the hole...let it dry...and redrill in the right spot?

I had the same problem but brought it back to dealership. They replaced the back bumper.

Well, in this case it shouldn't be a huge deal to fix. If it were to actually hold the bumper on, that's a different story. A license plate and bracket weight next to nothing.

A body shop should be able to fill the holes without an issue, quite like they would do for someone deleting their front license plate. I'm not sure of the compound used for things like that, but I would imagine it's bondo of sorts. Rock solid when dry, and won't be an issue to tap new holes.

bondo wont stick to plastic it might work for a little bit, but will fail. if your looking at doing it your self, then you need to go to your local auto paint store and get a plastic repair/panel bonding adhesive. if you dont want to have to paint it, just razor blade the adhesive into the holes so that they fill flush.

I'd make the dealer fix it or replace the bumper cover. Stuff like a crooked license plate would have me pulling my hair out.

Make the plate hole a slot and leave the wrong location in the valence?

You have purchased a brand new car worth over what? 30K?? They should fix any, and everything that is a result of *their* poor workmanship.
Just saying, its better if you take it to a dealer before you pull out your own wallet.

Think it was a dealer swap...not sure if I feel bad about asking the place that got the car for me to fix it. The West Hollywood installer must have been favoring one side...maybe a rough night with his boyfriend.

Mighty putty. Betcha mighty putty could fix it. New car with a blob of mighty putty. Nope....don't feel bad about asking now that I think about it. Be bringing it up next time I go into the dealership.

That actually worked pretty well...no dealership hassle. Pair of tin snips problem solved.
