:( got pulled over by the (wo)man AGAIN
lol, i can't catch a break. so a few months back a texas DPS guy pulled me over for no plate. He also told me that i needed to remove the light covers and then after looking at them he said i was good. i added the front plate (sadly) and went on about my business.
Today a lady cop pulls me over on the same stretch of road and tells me that i have to take them off. i still had the warning form the other officer in my console so i showed it to her and told her she said i was good. She basically told me he was wrong. I respectfully argued the point enough that she admitted she wasn't sure, but thought they reduced "reflectivity" and would have their regulations guy call me Monday. it's a forgone conclusion that i will have to remove them. sucks, i really like the covers on the tails. She said they were cracking down in smith county (Texas) and would actually force guys that had them painted with tint to replace the entire tail assembly.

If it falls within the legal limit, it's fine. Period.
If it's worth it, have a trooper or someone high up in the chain do the little test...I think they have to be visible from a couple hundred feet away or something like that.

I've thought about tinting mine but honestly, it's not worth any extra aggravation. I know a lot of people will say it's stupid to pull someone over for them, but it can be a safety issue. Same goes for the Altezza/clear tails. They can be hard to see at times, especially during the day

Here in NY, well atleast where I am, they are very strict on any type of tint on anything. My tails are tinted lightly & I have limo tint and they havnt said anything to me yet (knock on wood). My car is an eye soar and I catch them looking at it all the time so I guess it just depends if you get that one D!ck. I have 2 dea cards to back me up though
