I've heard of people having issues with their MT82 6-speeds, but mine seems to be OK (knock on wood). That said, I can really hear the synchros at low-RPMs (otherwise exhaust drowns it out).

Is it just me or are the gears REALLY close together? I barely use 1st anymore, or when I do, I usually shift 1-3-5. I'm used to my 1995 Firebird's T56 -- even with 4.11s I can cruise at 75 MPH at just over 2K RPM, which beats the 'Stang (with 3.73s)...

What do you mean by crap exactly, how is yours shifting?

The package is anywhere between $7K and $10K. All together I paid $43K.

Damn, that's pretty decent. My MSRP was 40k on mine. My shifting is crap, this is my second transmission already. First one crapped out two blocks from dealership. Second one had mad grinding in winter, and now I had the new fluid swap done and it's much worse. It grinds in 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th. Yeah, gears are def close with 3.73, I have the same. Sucks in stop and go traffic. But still a fun car.

paint your stock ones until you can afford an aftermarket setup.
