Post your tint!

I'm deciding which % to get. Please post pics of your tints and note your percentages! Also trying to decide if I want to go with a visor or leave the front windshield alone. Pics and feedback will help.

Hope these help.
Keep in mind, the interior can make it seem a lot darker if you've got a black setup inside.

Do you care about legal? That's the biggest concern.

LostBoyz 08-12-2011 12:38 PM

I went with 35% on driver/passenger and 20% on rear quarter and back glass. It keeps the car significantly cooler (my reason for getting it), little/no effect on outward visibility, and I have sat next to cops at a stop light without them even looking at the car.

I can post some pictures up later today.

In North Carolina we can only go 35%, it is actually tested at our yearly vehicle inspection along with emissions. I would rather have darker tint all around, but can't afford to strip it and redo it each year.

5% rear, 20% sides...wish I went 5% all around

the GT emblem is blacked out now and there's no spoiler but at least you can see the tint

Entrenched 08-12-2011 03:28 PM

20% all around

don't have my camera with me now, but I recently went with 20% on the side windows, 2.5% and nothing in the rear since the louvers are there. But NY, in accordance to state law not that many want to do that, has some of the strictest tint laws, another reason I am happy not to be in Drum anymore. I would say 25% you should be alright, but you never know. As for the windsheild visor I would definitely get it. State laws on tell you how far down the tint can go, either inches or the ASI line, but never state how dark it can be. With the 2.5% I don't even need to wear sunglasses anymore

20% all the way around, but it looks a little lighter because of my tan interior. I don't like the look of mixing tints.

StreetGhost 08-12-2011 06:23 PM

Don't mix tint percentages on a black or white car; I've always been able to see the difference. With a black car and black interior, you would be safe with a 35% tint but I went 20% on my car and you really can't tell the difference. Don't do an eyebrow...it looks ghetto in my opinion and if you ever have to replace the windshield then you lose that too.

20% was just right, in my opinion:
