I have the band type sensors on my car and the shop just transferred them to the new wheels.I think the 2010 Mustangs use valve stem type sensors,seems those would be even easier to transfer.They all are pretty fragile so i would make sure to take it to a reputable shop.I also think they have to be re calibrated and my shop did that as well.
The other option is to just ditch them altogether,i have heard many people just taking some 2 1/2" pvc pipe,attached on air valve,throw them in,seal it up,pressurize it and throw it in the trunk.

seal it up
wait for the glue to cure (24 hours)
then fill it up with air

TPMS both suck and help at the same time.. they seem to only register a fault when it's 25 psi or lower, by then it's too late and your driving on the rim. I have had cars with the TPMS light SOLID, which means that it's been on for an extended period of time lol
Most normal people have no friggin' idea what it means, even though it's obviously an exclamation mark as in " fvck you! Look at me!", yet no one cares rofl
It's cool when the bands are opposite of the valve stem (where it should be), but you sometimes get that total douche that will install it where ever the hell he feels like it and when you bust the bead, you break the sensor..DOH!
$95-150 down the shietter!.. for you! lulz

About 10 years ago I had a '95 Cobra. I took it in to the shop to have Eibach springs installed and the shop topped off the air in the tires. What I didn't realize was that the rubber oring in the valve stem cap was sideways and when they screwed it on it depressed the pin and was slowly leaking air. After driving for about 2 hours on the way to Seattle my car started to pull to one side and I pulled over. The tire was TOAST. It was smoking and completely shredded. Back then it was a big tire and difficult to get (Corvette was the only other car with one that size and it was a $270 tire...expensive now let alone back then). I was forced to watch Titanic and stay in a crap hotel while they express shipped the tire to the shop.
Moral of the story...if I had TPMS in that car it never would have happened. 25psi is not driving on the rim!
