2011 GT bama tune questions
I just ordered one of the Bama tuners with 3 custom tunes. I tried installing each of them and it seems like each one really bogs the engine down through 2k-3k rpms and after that it feels like I'm lacking horse power I used to have. Also when I shift into neutral the idling rpms drop incredibly low to about 400 or so and then slowly rise back up to the normal idle of about 700ish. I reset it back to stock and all these problems went away. Does anyone know if this is normal?

I've kind of had similar experiences w/ my 2010 and the Bama tunes. After switching back to stock, I realize I have more horsepower where I need it with no bog. Also, with an automatic the hard shifts and tire chirps are great to impress people...but don't seem to do much (OK not anything) for my 0-60 times.
AM and the Bama team are cool guys but the tunes just aren't working out for me.
Anyway, I have the 4.6 so my observations don't apply directly to YOUR tune.

Iv'e also noticed that the shifting with the tunes on is much less smooth and less forgiving. If my shift is slightly off with too much gas or too little gas, the car will shutter even when I'm only slightly off especially in 1st. A smooth shift into first is almost impossible with the tunes on. I guess I'll just leave it on stock for now :/

Something is for sure wrong with your tune. Otherwise you would be posting how awesome and different your car is with the tune. Best money I have ever spent! Car runs like a bat out of hell with the race tune.

I'm not sure that's true. Even the tuners say the tunes target specific power bands while slightly sacrificing performance in others.

That is true depending on level of mods but for a fairly stock car, it won't have that effect. And if it did, it would be maybe, maybe 100 to 200 rpms which is hardly noticable driving. Running a cammed setup or some type of forced induction is where the tuning timing tables becomes much more critical typically.
