2013 Rear Tail Lights?
#237
I thought this over for a long bit, I like the LED signature lighting of the 2013s, but honestly I like the way the 2010-12s light up as well, they just make the car look mean. Who knows, maybe this was the way of my mind justifying that I don't need the 2013s, lol.

Dammit, an aftermarket company needs to come out with some 2013 style tails for the 10-12…or we just need a cheaper source for 13 tails. I'd happily swap to a 13 rear bumper to get the 13 tail lights, but not for the $2k it'll cost for parts and body work.

Just an FYI for anyone who is looking to swap the 2010 through 2012 tail lamps out for the 2013-14 versions. They are plug and play. However....
If you purchase the tail light assembly from any of the online auctions via eBay or Craigslist then keep this in mind. YOU WILL NEED THE ASSEMBLY WITH THE PIGTAIL harness.
If you plan to purchase one then take note if the listing says the pigtail is included. Otherwise you're going to have to buy one. This is a FORD OEM part number BU2Z14S411VA. This is the entire pigtail with the rubber grommet. It will list anywhere from $22.00 to $40.00 brand new at various FORD parts dealers. The same part will fit either the left or right side so if you need both sides then order 2 of them.
If you want to fashion your own pigtail then you'll need the following FORD OEM part numbers to order the 8 cavity connector and the 10 cavity connector for each end of the pigtail.
PN# WPT-1349 for the 8 cavity connector that connects directly to the 2013-14 LED assembly
PN# WPT-1037 for the 10 cavity connector that links the pigtail to the internal wire harness
Then you can fashion a rubber grommet of your own to separate the wet zone from the trunk.
The wiring diagram has been shared on this thread previously. So if you're game to attempt fashioning your own pigtail..have at it. But, if you're interested in a new FORD part with warranty then you're better off just buying the pigtails.
Just Saying
BTW... don't fall for any listing for this pigtail like this one I just found. This is ridiculously overpriced coming in at around 500% above retail cost for a used pigtail. So for anyone who is not as capable of hunting down the part I really hope I saved you from caving into listings like this one. Big ouch if you did buy one like this.
