Default Installing badges after plasti-dip?

Alright, I think I am going to plasti-dip my badges in the next couple of weeks. The only thing holding me back is that I am unsure of how to re-install the badges after I remove them. I was thinking of buying some 3M tape and then try to cut it so that you can't see it once the badges are back on.

Thanks for the help!

Have you given plasti-dipping them on the car without removing them a thought? I did this with multiple emblems on friends cars. It just needs good external taping and time. The access inbetween the letters can be ripped off since it is not attached, similar to the overspray peel with the rims, but in this case it is a small space and need to work with a toothpick.

Leave them on. You won't have to deal with re-sticking them on after, and if there's overspray you just wipe it off. Plus, it'd suck to mess them up while you're re-applying them.

I did mine while on the car. Took 20 minutes.

Yep, just tape off a box around the emblem and apply an even coat to EVERYWHERE in the box. (this way it's easier to peel off)

When you peeled them, how did you make sure the layer that is coating the emblems don't peel off??

Spray a few light layers. Let dry for 5-10 min in between. My emblems have probably 5 coats. No peeling/chips...going on 8 months.

The badges are raised enough off the car that if you spray enough layers, the excess will peel off around the badge. (hopefully that makes sense). Just be careful when you wash her.
