Default 2013 Emblem change.. not for the faint of heart

So today I decided to replace my emblem and black out the chrome trim..
Turns out the 2013 is nothing like the 2010-12 as shown in the instructions shown here
http://www.roushperformance.com/part...structions.pdf

Anyway, here we go...

Stock

used a plastic ruler with smooth edges to pop off the chrome trim

backside is completely different than the 10-12s

and it's actually 3 pieces

had to dremmel off the horse and smooth it over

so I painted the trim black, and stuck it all back together..

Roush one is temporary, does anyone know where I can have one made, i already designed it, (copy of my tattoo) but the epoxy wrinkled the vinyl that I had used on it...
Looked great when I went to bed, when I woke up it looked like this..
Anyone know where i can get one made?

Why did you epoxy it? You can clear coat over a vinyl sticker and it will hold up quite well.

I wanted that thicker look, I was looking for 1/16" to 1/8" thick or so.
I have a vinyl machine at work, I might try it again and clear it like you said.

I have a plotter myself, and work at a body shop. If you take your time and use a good quality clear. You can slowly ad several layers of clear and make it look super thick. Just follow the directions on flash time. My shop cleared over a a car with 3 layers of vinyl and all said and done. Sanded and buffed you couldn't feel any of the layers of vinyl. Take your time and youll have a cool badge. I love the design BTW.

Thanks guys

This guy,
Tattoo don't mean anything. It is just something I had sketched over and over for about 10-12 years and finally got it done.

I already have a new disk, and cut new vinyl this AM, going to try a few coats of clear today and see how it looks

Good job on the decal, OP.
Props for doing it all yourself, especially on such a new car.

You should have seen my bosses face when I was out there one day drilling holes in my trunk for the spoiler, lol.

Anyway, looks like emblem 2 is going to work
