Cool 2011 Born To Race Mustang GT Body Kit

Hey everyone.. so apparently I'm buying a 2013 GT, black on black, and I recently saw the new Born To Race (I made the choice of purchasing a GT before I saw the movie -.-) anyways, the body kit really appealed to me and I was wondering what exactly its called and where I can find it? Conveniently enough the stang in that movie looks pretty much like what I wanted mine to look like - center grouped fog likes and all, although I'm not really a fan of the wheels.

There's a two year difference in the models, the one in the movie being a 2011 and mine being a 2013, but I'm assuming the kit would still fit on either one because its the same body style.

Thanks everyone!

dont think thats gonna work, the 2011 and 2013 are the same body style however they dont share the same front or rear bumper.

11/12 are the same but ford redesigned/updated the 13s, different front, hood, rear, I think the side skirts are the same just painted to match.

Not completely positive but go look at some pics, doesnt look like it would work

There's not really a whole lot of a difference.. but either way, yes, they're not the same.
Not the point though. They might have different bumpers now, stock, but because they share the same body style, wouldn't a body kit be able to fit them all? :/

the body kit was the boy racer kit from 3dcarbon i believe, but no it wont fit without a 10-12 hood and grille.

^^ What he said. And thanks to you, I checked Netflix for the movie and they have it. What a ride. Hopefully they'll update the Boy Racer kit for 13's ^.^

I couldn't find any images of the car on google, but if it is indeed the 3D Carbon Boy Racer kit, that's exactly what I have on my car (including the center-mount fogs).

Since it essentially replaces the entire front clip anyway, he could just as well get a new 2012 hood along with it, and call it a day. Of course, you loose the '13 appearance in the front, but I think that's a small price to pay if you want precisely that kit. God knows what 3D carbon is gonna do to the boy racer kit for '13, because the 10-12 version is radically different than the 05-09 prior version, and to expect anything other than a major redesign for '13 would be short-sighted.

With the grille, you're looking at an absolute minimum of $1200, and you can add another $200-300 for the lights and wiring harness. THEN you need to get it prepped/painted. I don't know what kind of hood was on the movie car, but you should expect to pay at least $500 for a decent fiberglass (2012) hood, which would also need to be fitted/prepped/painted.

Just a friendly heads up because I just did exactly what the OP wants.

I actually followed that car a lot before it was in the movie lol.

Has the 3dCarbon body kit, grille, and saleen style carbon fiber hood as well (stalker i believe). I was contemplating getting that hood before I sold my 2010.

Jsimmonstx, that is one mean front end.
But I still don't get why it wouldn't fit without the grill and the hood? I thought you just have to rip the front fascia off and replace it.. the mounting is going to be the same for the 13s as the 11-12s, right? :/ bare with me here

The `13 hood needs its front clip to look finished. If you change to a '12 front fascia, you also need to change to a 10-12 hood. Look at a 12 hood next to yours and you'll see what I mean.

Also, if you change the fascia, the grille surround will also change (the '12 3D Carbon fascia uses a 2010-12 GT grille).

Essentially, you're putting a 2012 front clip on your '13. The only thing you don't have to change are the headlights.

If you don't want to change your hood, you'll have to wait to see what 3D Carbon's stuff will look like for the '13.
