Could have waited for the 2015, but bought a 2013...mistake?
Hey guys,
This is my first post on these forums. I recently ordered a Sterling Gray Premium V6 w/ MCA package after falling in love with the test drive (wanted the better fuel economy and more affordable car with extra options that I couldn't get with the 5.0).
I was looking into all the chatter and design pics for the 2015 and it looks enticing. I guess I was just ready to upgrade from my 13-year-old Jeep, though, and didn't want to wait another 2 years! What are the thoughts here about going with the 2013 rather than the 2015 revamped model?
Does anyone think the S197's will look outdated as soon as the 2015 model hits the streets? Again, I know "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Just want to get other opinions.

Honestly every new Mustang that comes out the owners of the old ones hate the new ones. It is absolutely silly. Your 2013 is by far the best looking s197 mustang enjoy it and be thankful you don't have to buy the first year of the new model. I am looking forward to buying the new one but I hope I can wait a year till the bugs are out.

Buying a Mustang is never a mistake! I honestly don't think there will be a remodel for the 50th anniversary, despite the many rumors. I think they will just offer some extra features that will make it stand out, but I don't think it'll be much. Welcome to the forums by the way!

This happens across all car brands and is not just the Mustang community.
When I had my old E46 3 series.. All the older E36 series owners (93-99) could not stop b|tching about the new E46.. Now - the E90 is here (current 3 series) and all the E36/E46 guys are out b|tching about them..
Some people just have nothing to do with their lives, but complain.. Or try to 'one up' people because they are not confident in themselves, or play the 'I got the BEST' line when something newer (and better) than theirs comes out.
Then there's the line.. 'I like the lines on the old car better'.
Whatever.
I say to the OP: Do you like what you bought? Because in 2015 it won't look like that anymore, and there are NO viable, believable concepts out there to intrust your future Mustang purchase to.
To the quoted OP: 10-4!

I'm also not a huge fan of following speculation and rumors. Until Ford makes official statements, there's no telling what the heck we'll have. Until then, I suppose I'll be burning rubber in my 2013! Those red tail lights had me SOLD as soon as I saw them!

You dropped 30k on a new car and are already doubting your purchase because of some renderings you saw for a car that won't be in production for two years? I had a choice between a 12 or a 13, and picked the 12 without ANY regard for what's coming down the pike.
I could understand if you were reconsidering because you want the V8, a different transmission, or even an additional OEM package applied to the car, but wringing your hands over a rendering is a waste of time.

What's the deal with the 2015's? The 2014's are the 50th Anniversary Mustang and I thought the new model design. I've seen people mention the 2015's on several other sites also. Am I missing something or is everyone else confused? LOL!!

You did fine IMO. The 05-14 S197 Mustangs will always look great with their retro theme. The new 2015+ Mustang will be more modern looking which will only make the 05-14s more special (think 65-73 when the smaller 74s came out).

Ford is following their original roll-out of the Mustang. The 1964 1/2s were actually 1965s released prior to 1965 I think. So they will roll out the 2015 model early in 2014 (much like they already do now). I wonder if they will call them 2014 1/2s?
