Any details on how to make it work with a 2011 would be appreciated

It really is remarkable how much positive attention the feature gets. Such an odd little thing...

I believe it requires some drilling into the mirror housing. Not too sure though.

Puddle lights on my '98 MK VIII were one of the Cool things on that car.

No it doesn't. I had a 2013 and it did not have them. I traded in the '13 for a 2014 V6 premium with pony package and it did NOT come with the car either.

I did it to my 2010 and it was a PITA. would not do it again.

yes, had to cut into the bottom of the mirror housing for the lights to sit in (had to make a template to do that), then epoxy the light to the housing. that was the easy part.

the hardest part was running the wires though the door jamb grommets. I tapped into the overhead courtesy lights above the mirror for power.

One of the most fun options on my 2013 GT Premium (I have the interior package)
