Default Cleaning Ritual of you S197 Owners who drive in the Winter

I am sure if I surf through all the threads and wasted 4-5 hours or more I could get a synopsis.

However, I wanted to compile the list here to make it simpler.

My curiosity stems from the fact my 13 is my DD, and it will get a lot of HWY use as well as City use, but the do's and don'ts have me th emost curious.

Now I have a few automatic car washes in the area I trust, and use. But I have yet to find a Car Wash, conveyor driven, that has a powerful under carriage bath, so normally I will drop a 5 spot on those robo area with the powerful undercarriage and rocker blasters to get the underneath fairly clean, and if it is heavily soiled under the car i will go self serve and clean up what the Rocker/under blasters miss, then go find my favorite automatic for the body.

My other question is, what do you use to wax this time of year. If we get a day in the mid to upper 40's I will use a spray on to do a quick polish, and add some protectant to the finish, but most times I am stuck using whatever the car wash has, and if they have rain X I always purchase it.

I have owned a lot of stangs in the 25 years I have been driving and I like to think I am very aggressive with the cleanliness of the vehicle during winter months, but getting tips fro others in colder climate never hurts. You never know who does what and it may never hurt ot change it up a littl ebit.

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. It will last all winter. You only have to do it once, then the car wash waxes are nothing but a finishing touch. With the WDGPS, it will look like you hand waxed it after every wash.

It's available from www.Autogeek.net. It isn't available locally at all.

I daily drive my stang all winter. This stuff works amazingly. You apply it to the whole car, then buff it off. You cannot let it get wet for at least 12 hours after application and you cannot put anything else on for at least 24 hours. You won't believe the slickness. Snow, ice and crap will just slide right off.

DG501 is also a good, long lasting sealant. You can also top it with DG601 and DG105 is you want a better finish and a longer lasting sealant but it is not needed.

I have been using Jetseal 109 as well and it lasts a long time.

I seal the car for winter and wash/wax when I get the chance.
