Hi everyone, I haven't been around here in a while. I'm working on several ideas for a paint-scheme on my new 2013 GT. I will be buying the Trufiber "Venom" hood (just fiberglass) and once I get it, I'll be painting my stripes. I found a pic of the hood online and modified it for the basic color pattern I'm thinking of. Blue on Black is a must, but the silver in the middle could also be a matte-black stripe. Any thoughts?

Also, anyone know what the going rates on a two-tone stripe paint job is these days (Plus rocker panel stripes)? I haven't priced anything in over 6 years.

Since you asked for an opinion, I'll give it. Personally I'm not feeling the silver stripe down the middle. I'm not a fan of having three different colors on a car, but that's just me. I would go with the matte black stripe if you had to have a stripe. Your idea is not bad though. Depending on what else you do with the car, I'm sure it can come out nice if done right.

Yeah, like everything else in the world, it's gonna be a mixed bag on opinions. I think it's about 50/50 on the three color thing. Some people love it, and some hate it. For me, every mustang I've ever owned has been Silver/Black/highlight-color. But, I've never done it quite this way before. It's almost an opposite of my last car which was Silver with black stripes and red highlight. This time I really wanted a black car, so I reversed it with a silver stripe.

It's a design in process. I haven't done anything yet and won't pull the trigger on color until I get the new hood painted and installed.

MMMmmmm that looks great to me. I really like the black and silver and blue. Matte black would look sick, but it might make the blue look too bright and out of place.

Congrats on the 2013! Did you sell your 05 GT?
Personally, I like the silver stripe with the blue pin stripes. Looks clean!

I like the silver and blue. I prefer 'Stangs with color, because it shows off the great lines of the car. Black on Black is also dramatic as the many blacked-out Mustangs above demonstrate.

personal opinion - it's too busy, and the colors are too different. it makes it pop for sure, but I would find it difficult to carry out a consistent theme using that coloring.

what about red? I'm going to get stripes painted on here soon and I am up in the air between matte black and red. Leaning toward red racing stripes 10"/1" gap.
