OP, get some dedicated winter tires. Even if there is no snow on the ground, under 45 deg.F your summer tires will be like hockey pucks, traction will be at a minimum and spinning out is a possibility.

Good luck, and stay safe.
+1... I need to get me some winter tires myself. Even in GA it gets pretty chilly in the mornings and cools off quick at around 6:30 at night.

I think there might be a little more to this story. Sorry bout your car and glad you and your wife are okay, but.....your driving skills and decision making skills need some honing.

Yeah, I am still young, yeah, I can still be dumb. I am not sure what else there is to say about the tree, I was going fairly slow, turned the wheel, car turned about halfway then stopped turning like the front wheels completely lost traction but the back ones still had it. the tree stopped me, I am just glad that it was the tree and not the cement wall behind it that stopped me.
Yeah I should have had better tires, but being from normally hot Texas I didn't think it necessary for a single trip to Utah and back. Guess I was wrong...
And those that think I am too young/immature/inexperienced to drive, just remember that you pay me to fly multi-million dollar aircraft... . I don't really think that Red is a factor, just a theme. I don't think I am that young, but not old either, and the Air Force has taught me that I still have a lot to learn. Glad everyone here can help with that!
Anyone else have any thoughts on an aftermarket bumper? I still can't find one for a 2013 online anywhere.

The car was a 1990, no IN 1990.
Just cause u can fly dosnt mean u can drive & the Air Force didnt tech u drive a car. MB the should.

Sorry to hear about the accident, glad that you & the wife are okay. As for the front bumper, I was under the impression & was also told by a few others that the 2013 shares the same body panels as the 2011-12 models. That being the case, wouldn't any bumpers, side skirts or rear bumpers from a 2012 work?

My mistake. Good job addressing one of my sub-points, very enlightening.

I don't think the 2011-12 bumpers would work on a 2013, as the rears are differently shaped due to the new taillights, and the front end has the bumper coming all the way up to meet the lip of the hood. OP might have to go OEM for this one.

The car has all-seasons. That's clear from the fact that it has the base wheels.

Front end - Your only option at this point is either 2010-2014 GT500 front bumper or 2013-2014 standard bumper. I was going to mention Roush, but they just modify the stock 13-14 bumper.

At least you have the option to change the grilles to something cool if you want now if you stick with the stock bumper.

Sorry about your bad luck though.

I rock summer Nittos and have no issues, but I don't screw around in rain and snow. I am extra cautious. However, let it be a dry day, 40-45, I will drive til the tires warm up and then get ***** out on it.

This is why I never take any of my Mustangs out in the snow. They just do not do well in snow. The newer ones handle better but not much. I learned that back when I was in high school with my 72 Mach1. It was not a car in the snow just a bobsled that you cant not control.

Im missin the stang so much it might be time for a trip to a FORD dealer for a test ride. Almost worth the month of follow up sales call from them.
