I have 35,000 on mine and no issue like that but Im make sure to look out for it. Take it to Ford and have them fix it.

Let us know how it goes if you try to replace under warranty.
I don't see why they would hassle you about it being under warranty it is a defect.

I never had it on mine, but then again I am a 10 and 2 driver. Are you guys driving by holding the wheel at the controls bar?

Wow - I have 19,300 already on my 2013 and use the buttons a lot and they don't look anything like that.

No and like I said, the radio controls get a LOT more use than cruise and there isn't a single mark on any of them.

I generally drive at about 9 and 3 with a thumb constantly messing with buttons for music. Mine is fading on the radio + - buttons too. The up or + button is fading worse.

Either a cheap coating job by the mfg of the part, or the parts were dirty prior to painting and it isn't adhering to the surface life it should.

My 2012 V6 is only four months old. I have the exact same problem where the button that says, "+SET"; there is already a small patch where the black has worn away. This after only 11,000 miles. Come on Ford. Unbelievable.
