18x9 Wheels on Stock GT tires
#11
The tires will likely be stretched, but they will fit! Just depends on the look you want. If you want more of a beefy, muscle car look, I'd suggest going wider. Here's that 235/50/18 tire on an 18x7.5" rim, so the tire will be stretched 3/4" of an inch on either side of the wheel.
I know they're not the best pictures, but it was the closest thing I could find

As mentioned in another post, a 255-275 will work perfectly on a 9" wide rim.
Good Luck!

Get the 18x9 rims. Put your stock 235/50's on them. When they wear out put 255/45's on them. The 235's will fit on 18x9's, they will be stretched a little but who cares, at least you can wait to get new rubber and use up the stock tires. Don't get a smaller rim just for the stock tires, you will be sad later when you cant get a wider tire.
