Illuminated door sill plates

Illuminated door sill plates
Howdy folks,
I just purchased a 2013 Mustang with the 3.7 V6 & six speed manual.
I have a set of the illuminated door sill plates part number
8R3Z-63132A08-AC
I hooked a 9v battery up to the supplied red/black wires off the LED, it lights up in WHITE.
Do these have the capability to light up in blue, green, red, etc. Or are they just white? It looks like the multiple color version has multiple wires coming off the LED mine is only red/black so I suppose if I wanted colors other than white i would have to change the LED
I have seen this write up https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...with-pics.html
Pretty informative, but in my install instructions that where included in the ford box, along with that write up are incorrect, the black wire with the blue tracer is not present. Ford must have changed wire colors at some point.
Any insight on this?
thanks
Earl

I looked a little close, these are not the multi color version. They only light up white, which is just fine. The weird deal is this
The led will illuminate with a 9v battery, so, it does work.
I used a test light, found the correct wires, spliced them according to the instructions, but they do not illuminate.
Ford changed the wire colors, so, the instructions are incorrect.
Not sure what I did wrong. All I can figure is maybe I hooked them up backwards, or the tap connectors don't work, I never have had luck with those, always been a fan of soldered connections. Just don't want to do that on a new car.

Somewhat related to this, I'd really like to purchase lighted door sills. My question is, I see two separate versions, each has a different font for the "Mustang". Does the sill you received have the "g" serif or without? American muscle shows their product pictures with it, but all the customer pictures don't have it. Was the lighted door sill available for model year 08? If so, does anyone know if the stock sills had serif or not?
