Default Looking at this hood. Feedback?

So I found a GT500 hood in my color for $350 in my area. See link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321094813097?item=321094813097&viewitem=&vxp=mtr
My main concern is that I don't have stripes on my car yet, I want them but don't have them. Would a paint shop be able to EASILY color match the stripes on this hood with my car? Any other concerns I should be looking for? I want to go see it in person if possible. Is 350 a good price?

Thanks,
Matthew

Unless you have the GT500 front fascia I doubt that hood will fit and if it does it won't look right.

That hood has diagonal cuts in the front corners... that's not the V6 or GT hood shape is it? and the bidding may end up going for a lot more than $350.

So you guys don't think it would fit? I didn't notice any frame difference between the V6, GT, or 500 that would cause it not to fit. But I'm here to learn so

I don't think it will fit your 2011. While it is basically the same frame and mounting point, so yes, you can put it on - the "skin" is different and the shape won't fit without the GT500 front fascia. I can't find a picture right now, but as I recall the 2010+ GT500 hood fits behind a "lip" like on my 2013

Only pictures I can come up with are from ebay, so here is a GT500, look at the big picture to see the hood line

Then compare it to this one that is a 2011 V6 like you have (and a GT hood would be the same)

I would also *guess* that you could get full length stripes (without worrying about color match) and a similar hood scoop installed on your current hood for about the same ballpark figure.... but that depends on what the final auction price is.

Your right now that I look at it more. The GT500 hood ends behind the front fascia where the GT and V6 ones come over the top of the front fascia. Bummer. I LOVE the GT500 hood.

It looks like it might work with the 2013 fascia, if the rest of the hood is the same. May be a nice upgrade for someone with the newer style.

not a direct fit on 10-12 unless you change the front fascia and some underlying support pieces. I've been researching doing this myself. there is a chance the stripes are vinyl and you can peel them off because they don't look painted on. you will need either a 10-13 gt500 front fascia, or a 13+ fascia to make this work.

I'd say go for it, but you still need a bumper cover and some additional parts. more info for you here: http://gt500conversion.blogspot.com/
