Default Steering wheel compatibility

I know I can upgrade, but there is a difference in the design of the left side controls on this particular steering wheel -- it the up/down/left/right/ok pad. Is is still compatible with the base model? (I know I have to get an ACM flash done to make the stereo controls work)

I've heard from others that the buttons can be swapped out with the buttons on your current wheel. Hopefully someone will chime in on that with personal experience lol. Even if you couldn't, I would imagine that everything should still work other than the D pad.

Thanks for the reply. From some more research it looks like the D-pad kinda screws up the cruise control buttons -- so I just went with the Alacantra Boss wheel, which was about the same price anyway. Should have it installed by the end of the week!

Yeah... the GT500 is the one I bought (from Levittown Ford) not the BOSS. Should be here tomorrow or Friday.

It looks great, for me only the cruise control buttons work for now (I'm upgrading my headunit next month) but since you have a '14, I would assume the audio controls will work for you right out of the box.... don't the 2014's come with audio/cruise controls steering wheels on the the base models?
