Wink Question regarding 2011-2013 Boss 302, where is engine made?

I don't see a Boss 302 section on this website. I saw a new on lot 2013 Boss 302 for sale, basic, non Laguna Seca edition. Window sticker says that transmission is made in China, yuck, should be USA, at least, Canada or Mexico made, Tremec, geesh. Car sticker said that Engine assemble / made in the USA. But yet the "regular" 5.0 coyote engine in the GT is made / assembled in Canada, what gives. I have heard that the Boss 302 engine is mostly made / assemble in USA. Is there a recall for the tranny to Tremec? Ger.

they switched to Getrag/Ford built MT-82's back in 2011. The Coyote engines are built separate from the Road Runner engines.

Sticker on my '13 Boss says engine is Canada, and tranny is China.

Hi mungodrums,

As you already know, it’s a global business.

The engine is assembled at our plant in Windsor, Ontario where Ford has been building engines since the 1920’s. The 5.0L engine used in the Mustang is assembled there using over 90% USA sourced parts. The transmission is built in a German owned/operated (Getrag) plant in China, the plant makes manual transmissions for other Ford products sold in markets around the world. Due to the low volume of manual transmissions in the US market, it is not cost effective to build the transmission in the USA; therefore Ford has not built manual transmissions in the US since the 1970’s. The manual transmissions used in the 2010 and prior Mustangs were built in Mexico.

As a footnote, the engine used in the 1969-1970 BOSS 302 was also made at the Windsor, Ontario engine plant. I hope this info helps.
