Talking Rear Deck Lid Blackout w/ Plastidip

I did six light coats, 10 minutes apart, but that's too many coats or too much time between coats. When I took the tape off right after the last coat, the PD had already set so it started to lift a bit on the edge. The end pic is b4 it fully cured.

I'm gonna try it again with fewer coats. Pics speak for themselves. Gonna take the faux cap off next time.

Nice way to do a blackout. Looks great. I've never messed with the stuff but I'm thinking you're right and it was too many coats. Seems like just 3 or 4 would be plenty.

I think I am going to have to try this. Looks good. The paint looks a little wet still. Do you have any completely dry shots?

So that it wont lift you have to take the tape off before it dries

I may peel it off and try again. Got one piece of lint and a tiny spot below the cap.

Look way better dry. I'll get one up tomorrow.

Spray the coats very close together, the plastidip still has to be wet when you pull the tape off because it turns into a solid when it dries.
