I was pretty dead set on waiting for the s550, but I'm beginning to think it may be smarter to just snag a s197 5.0...Found one for a really good deal - 2012 GT Premium, and my favorite part....REDFIRE <3 All my stangs been redfire, 03 gt, 07 gt, and now maybe this '12...looking to close the deal tomorrow.... can't sleep! I WILL be keeping my early s197 because I feel like one day it will be very sought after, so this shall be an addition!

It's interesting to think about the future, I wonder what the mustang will be like 50 years from now, and how people will think about the stangs that you see today

Go for it man! And I wouldn't worry about the track apps too much, i've got a '13 GT premium and have literally never used the track apps once, just broke 20k miles on the odometer. (although I do glance at my LCD screen for temps/pressures obsessively)

ya aside from my life savings I have about 20 grand saved just for a car (I try to make as big as a down payment as I can) and I was saving it for the s550, but now that I got all the cash I don't want to blow it all on a car lol, so 2012 5.0 will be cheaper and still cool! but even now i'm debating just throwing it all in savings and spending a few thousand to make mine current ride better :/ lol

I would use em a lot since i track a lot (well...as much as you can in mpls).. those things would be nice!

to OP, it's never good to dump your life savings on one item, but maybe half of them, and then another 1/4 of it for mods? haha

I did the same thing...found a fantastic deal on a 2014 Mustang GT with track pack and leather Recaro racing seats, and bought it.
