That's really cool and unique! I love subtle mods that only another avid car buff would even notice. It's perfect as is, but here's what I would do in addition. Mix up some 2 part acrylic and pour it over the emblem, filling in the entire embossed area. Once that levels out and cures sand it flush with the panel. After paint and clear coat it will look embedded in the surface yet smooth to the touch.
