Center Console; Open space, and wire harness undernieth
While pulling my radio to TRY and fix the CD changer (fail), I saw this stuff:
Then, there is this harness under it:
So, what am I missing?
I found all kinds of stuff inside here, that PEN, some change, and that griffin strap...
Oh, and for 2008 owners, the plug was there for the info/menu/reset center; it's actually
plugged into the blank plate. So, I can update my cluster..
I also like how it's twice as much than others, even used, being a mustang version.

Ford uses the same wiring harness for all Mustangs so there is quite often a plug that is not used because the car doesn't have that option (cheaper to just produce one harness than it is to create multiple harnesses.). So you might not be missing anything.
That button in your second picture is aftermarket, not OEM. It could be a trunk release, a line lock, or even a nitrous purge. No way for anyone to know looking at it. You can try holding it (assuming it is connected) and step on your brake pedal - then take your foot off the pedal while holding the red button and see if it is a line lock. If it is, your car won't roll until you release it.
Any evidence of nitrous on the car? Look at the intake for a plug and holes for the bottle mount in the trunk.

Yeah, but I doubt they would leave a big open space for stuff to fall
into there, like all the crap I found underneath the shifter. Look at the pen
that's in there, not my pen.
There are trunk release kits on eBay, a button mounted in that panel. I don't even
have the blank panel/door, someone took it off. So, crap falls inside the
center console...
AND, if anyone knows, what the harness is for...

I'm confused, is the second picture your car? Or do you just have a big hole there?
If you just have a hole there, then someone simply removed the panel. It pops right out. And like I said, Ford uses the same wire harness on multiple cars, so there are connectors that don't go to anything depending upon the options on the car or even the model.

Yeah, I can't find it under $14.99
I may just trace the opening out and make one... I keep looking
for wrecked cars to see if they have one. Just missed one locally...
I also got the instructions for the trunk release button. There is a kit on eBay
for $30.00, switch and cover. I ain't payin' that either, when I can wire it
up myself...
