Mystery key switch
Does anyone know why my 2010 Mustang V6 convertible has a key switch hidden behind the rear seat on the driver's side? I've had to pull all the back seat hardware to find a water leak. That was pretty easy to fix ("hidden" convertible material was directing water into the cabin instead of down to the drain. I recently had to take the new top back to the shop for some fine tuning, apparently stuff got pulled out of place.). But then I see this key switch. It's tempting to put the key in and turn it, but I've seen too many James Bond movies!

It disables the trunk release button so if the top is down someone can't reach in and pop the trunk open.

05-09s don't even get a trunk release button from the factory.... I don't have one.
Can add one, it's easy, but don't have one... |

Wow... I wonder why they didn't just put the button in the glove compartment and let the driver lock the glove compartment like normal cars? I think the location of the trunk button on the console is kinda dumb. I wish it only worked if I was in Park (or for stick cars, if the parking brake was set).
