Car jumps/jerks when shifting from P to R or to D/S
I always been dream about driving a Mustang and was able to finally buy a new 2017 Mustang V6 in July last year. Everything has been great so far and I am really happy with my Mustang.
However, yesterday, I noticed that whenever I shift from P to R or to D, car would jump/jerk. The engine light came ON as well. (Note that this car has just about 8500 KMS on it and I got the first service done a month ago in December.) This has never happened until now with this car.
Then, I turned it off and waited couple of minutes and it did the same when I started and shifted to R. As I was driving home, I noticed that the RPM gauge was at 4000RPM and the car was barely doing 100KM/hr (I was on a highway and it wasn't safe to drive slow). Took the next exit and went over to a friend's house. After resting when I turned the car ON again after 30-40 minutes, the Engine light was still ON but the jump/jerk whenever I shifted wasn't present anymore.
By the time I reached home and checked everything again, the Engine light was also not ON anymore.
I have no idea what could be causing this? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Could be as simple as a fluid level (high or low). Transmissions these days are highly sensitive to fluid level. Don't know if the 2017 uses a 'sealed' transmission like previous models.
Either way, take into the dealer and have them find the problem. Make sure they tell you what caused it so that you will know for future reference (outside of warranty).
Whatever yo do for the moment, do not clear the codes or disconnect the battery. If you do, the dealer cannot retrieve them/it until the car throws the code again.
