Does the 2011 V6 really have more HP than the 05-09 GT's?

Also, how much will the base price most likely be for an '11 V6?

^^^45tq less^^^ approx 15% is a tad more than a bit but now I'm splitting hairs I guess. For the v8 guys, they will tell you the 6 will be minus the throaty sound to round things out.

Less torque you guys should be fine handling them, now if they start moding, thats another story will not be too good if they can bring that torque band up some. But we still do not know how this motor will do with mods and how it will adapt could be good or might not be much room to add power! Some one else will probably elaborate more for you, Ive just been studying the 5.0, and it looks like ill need to supercharger to keep up with my fellow ponies!

I think the 2011 V6's 0-60 time is estimated around 6 seconds - nearly a full second behind 4.6 GT. That is what a bit less torque does! :)

I do think the 3.7 V6 is a great engine! It will be so much smoother than the 4.0 while revving to ~6750 rpms... and I actually like the 2010+ V6 front bumper over the 2010+ GT too.

It'll do 0-60 around 5.4 seconds, slightly quicker then the gensis coupe. That must suck for the 05-09 gts, a v-6 with more hp then their v8? The gt's will still be faster due to their torque, but they'll definitely get hit with some big depreciation.

Not too bad... where did you hear that 0-60 time? It's faster than I thought it would be.

i thought it would be faster than 5.4 actually.. the 6 cylinders curb weight is significantly less isn't it?

I'm sure with the closer geared 6speed stick the '11 V-6 will surprise some sleeping '05-'09 GT drivers, but you gotta remember, the '11 V-6 gets dual exhaust, the 8.8 lsd diff and I'm sure the new 6speed has to weigh a lil more than the outgoing 5speed in the older GT. The weight difference probably isn't more than 100lb(I've seen specs where a 2011 V-6 weighs over 3600lb, more than the '05-'09 GT), so who knows at this point. Funny thing, most '05-'09 GTs dyno around 265-270rwhp stock, that's really around 307-311 flywheel hp. Until an '11 V-6 is strapped to a dyno, we won't know the whole story. As to a concept that an '11 V-6 can be "tuned" to higher hp levels without going FI will be a mystery to me as the car is already highly tuned from the factory. A '05-'09 GT can be "bolted up" to produce around 295-310rwhp(which equates to 330-340ish hp at the flywheel). I think the 2011 V-6 was long overdue(as was the 5.0L GT!) and the breed continues to improve, we all win ;). As to which car to get? If I was a young man(under 25) I'd say the V-6(for insurance purposes and the younger crowd seems to enjoy the "latest thing out"), but for an older person(as me) I'd rather have an older V-8 model, I was raised with muscle cars and Mustang is a V-8 car IMO. No offense to any non-V-8 owners, but that's my opinion.............

I could not agree more! even as a younger guy (21) I would take my older v8 over a newer equally as powerful v6 any day of the week. Performance is a big deal and all but nothing has the swagger of a roaring american V8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and shoot i can get a couple bolt-on's and be good to go haha
