tune for v6 is here

I have never done any kind of tune to a car before. I definitely want to with this car. Can anyone tell me. Does it really make a diference. So far.
Ford Race tuner
Diablo tuner
Steeda tuner
Bama tuner
to name a few.
Just what does one do.

i posted what one guy said w/ tune he got on his 6'er here read...
I've been running my 2011 V6 Auto with Diablo Sport's tune in it for about two months. Let's just say the dyno number increase is greater than what I've read about another tune within a similar thread. After installing a 3:73 rear last week, my car has completed its transformation from a quick V6 to a Fast V6. It chirps into every gear, yes the limiter is off..
Camaro V6's were never really a threat when my car was stock. Now, with the tune and gear, they aren't even worth toying with. 2010 Mustang GTs, unless also tuned and geared, can't keep up with my V6 Pony.

It just might be the conspiracy nut in me, but it seems to me that they "undertuned" the V6 so that it wouldn't hurt the leftover 2010 GT sales as badly. It is as if the V6 was naturally supposed to be 315hp by design. It just seems too good for it go up 10+ hp from a 87 tune. Almost all previous Mustang tunes only really work on premium.
If I'm right, then they will "pull a GM" in the 2012 V6... where the use the same engine and just restate the horsepower.

What will be interesting to see is what will happen when tuners know how to change the VCT. That will be insane. I want to get it dynoed locally but I am not too sure on that. I mean it's too new. As a matter of fact I believe that people still do not know the true potential of these cars yet. We shall see in the months to come...

I asked BAMA what I can expect and seems that only 2 tunes are what you get, from how I'm reading this, no eco tune....
The gains you could expect to see are about 10-13HP for an 87 octane tune and upwards of 20HP for a 93 octane tune. We do not offer a fuel economy specific tune but with our Street and Performance tunes you can see a gain of a fuel miles per gallon when the vehicles is being operated at part throttle while still having the power available at full throttle.

There are 3 tune types available Street, Performance and Race. There is no economy-specific tunes. Economy is built into all of our Street and Performance files, just not into the Race tune. If you drive the car the same way before and after flashing, you can see as much as 1-3 MPG difference. It's usually on the lower end of that, as people are blasting around when they first receive their tunes.
Again, this is all dependent upon fuel quality and your foot!

yep thanks....I can tell you now driving 45 to 80 daily highway rush hour type traffic average is 26 now and over 30 traveling on a trip, and that is not putting a foot into it, thats babying it.
