I can`t say I was unhappy with the stock v6 either. It is a great car just as it comes. I guess I just had to see if I could make it better for me. A tune and the 3.55`s makes me even happier.

found this post on another forum its very informative......

Theres a conversation going in the gt 5.0 guys and some jealousy too...they have the 5.0
- we have exactly 3/4 their displacement.
-We make more thyen 3/4 of their performance on 87 octane gaz buschur racing tested over 26whp going from 87 to 93 in the 5.0 to a total of 337whp on a low reading mustang dyno from 311 baseline.
-We have big bore short stroke (our pistons are bigger then the 5.0) they are oversquare.
-We dont have a gay *** sound tube.
-They have the rolled finger follower valve pusher we get buckets like superbikes!
-They gain 25-30whp with headers alone when they already have shorties; we have iron freakin 2 inch maniflods!!!!So baseline lontubes get us 25 hp 25 tq with NO tuning whick get us to 330hp 305 tq Stock tune 87 octane rating running stock engine bay looking!!! Isnt that NEAT???

Excellent...

The best part of a 6 is how many Camaro SS and Challanger R/T's and one SRT8 I have caught sleeping.
Then they ask...."Is that the 8..I say Nope..."........Haaa lol

You beat someone who wasn't racing you? Thats impressive

Also, the v6 has a sound tube, almost all modern cars do. The NVH has been getting so good you can't hear anything out of the engine compartment, so now they actually have to pipe in off the intake so can hear what your engine is doing.

AmericanMuscle just did a test on a 100% stock 2011 V6 auto, with some nice results. 14.271 sec. quarter mile. They're going to post a video sometime soon (I can't wait). The thread is at https://mustangforums.com/forum/3-7l...k-results.html

Amazingly, a simple Bama custom tune dropped that to 13.73 sec. Pretty amazing considering using an automatic, and a stock 2.73 axle.

I think getting the Bama tune will be high on my list, second only to new exhaust.

I'm wondering what the time would be with 2.73 still, but new Magnaflow Street Cat-Back exhaust. And then, what would it be if I then added a SF3 Tuner and a C&L CAI.

Man. I have looked everywhere (with no results) to find the info you guys found, concerning a stock auto 2.73 11 v6. I'm really looking forward to checking out that video. I definitely know that once my warranty is gone (maybe before), I'm going to order some mods from you all.

EDIT: Wow, I don't know how that happened, but I typed this after I read AM's reply...
