Default Chirping the Tires

Mostly aimed at Auto trans owners w/ 2.73 gears, have you guys ever been able to chirp the tires? No matter how much i try, i cant seem to do it whether its shifting from 1 to 2 to 3, or putting it in D.
I'm just wondering.

First turn off the ATC (Adv. Traction Control ) by holding the brake down, push the button for about 6 sec. and it should show OFF on the dash. Then power brake it to about 2500-3000 RPM then mash the gas and GO ! She will smoke'em !

what he said ^
TC off and floor it,
tune would also help with more aggressive shifts and better shift points

Yes, but just enough brake to hold the car from moving, dont try it on a busy street!! kinda dangerous unless nobodys around.. As for chirping them, that seems to be the only way (with TC off) just flooring it will not do anything with the 2.73's (at least not my car) flooring it from a stop on a 90degree turn will get some rubber tho. And of course it spins them very easily on a wet road.

Cant wait for my 3.73s I'd say "chirping" the tires wont be a problem then.

Will that power braking do any damage to the car? I know that it's the correct way to do a launch at the track, but not sure if it damages the car.

I would not make a habit of doing it.

It's horrible for your tires, obviously, and will definitely accelerate the wear on your rear brakes. Other than that, it's a non-issue.

lol chirping tires... the other day i pulled up to a 4 way intersection with some friends, i decided to "chirp the tires" or in my case peel out. I turned the traction control off and made sure it was clear both ways. i was going across a little farther in the road because there was a turn lane to go into the road across from where i was pulling out, but anyways i pulled out and all i can say is wow. I had probably the best peel out you could ever have in a mustang. It was soo intense my car drifted on the last part of the peel out. = awesome. i went by a couple days later and the track marks were sickkk. oh and it was a 2010 v6 ^.^ i dont do this all the time so my tires arent going to wear out that soon. Also.. i've burned out on the same road, but i was by myself, then i tried it again later with my friend and i couldn't do it..maybe the extra weight

Don't know but I've had 355 gears installed and it still wouldn't chirp them in low or second. Installed the 87 Street Performance tune and now they'll chirp in first and second with the traction control on. Turn off the traction control off and power brake it and it would light them up in first while still completely stock.
