how to check milage

In order to hand calculate your mileage you need to know how many miles were driven between fill-ups and divide that by the # of gallons you put in the tank. Unless you know what the mileage was when it was last filled, you can't calculate it and will have to wait until the next fill-up. The on-board is often inaccurate.
I carry a cheap monthly pocket planner (about $3 at WalMart) in each car and record the mileage and # of gallons at each fill-up. I also use it to record whatever maintenance I do.

are you talking bout the OD?
see the 3 buttons to the left of the steering wheel? push info and look at your display in the middle of the tach.
also tells you avg mpg, instant mpg by bars, etc
or you could have just pulled out the manual
