Default How much room needed to change out axlebacks

I ordered my Borla touring axlebacks today for my '11. The installation looks easy-peezy, but I'm kind of being a cheap-skate on paying a muffler shop on throwing these on there. For those of you changing out new axlebacks, how much room did you need to swap them out? I don't have any ramps, but not opposed to picking some up if it's noticably more reasonable than taking it somewhere.

Thoughts?

P.S. I don't mind paying a shop to get it done, but know they can inflate the labor part of it - when in my mind its the fact that they just have a lift, and I don't. :-)

i just got borla s-types, paid local shop $75..worth it cuz i did my '10 gt , was a little tough... and w/o ramps these are even tougher on the v6 so when took a shop that does all day 45 mins...that can stand under car and have a helper..was worth the 75...and centered..

Great point. If I can find a place that would do it for $75, that would be worth it to me as well.

I was able to do mine without jacking the car up in about 30 minutes with a buddy of mine. Wasn't hard at all...Just slid myself under the car popped them off and put the new ones on...the mrt's I put on only had 2 prongs so It was easy overall.

I noticed that one of my stock exhaust pipes stuck out further than the other when I received my Bassani axlebacks. Brought everything to Midas ($80 hr). I'm glad I did because it turns out the hangers on the undercarriage weren't lined up properly. Midas heated one of the muffler hangers so we could bend it a bit so both tail pipes were lined up and stuck out pass the valance identically. My car was pretty much a two man job.

LOL I'm almost convinced as reading the simple install directions as corsa sent...until the hangers have to come off, then have to rotate the mid pipes to line up the tips out the back hour and half later....say what you need to say, but i don't care how good a wrench turner you are...it is not a pop off pop on, I would agree if you did not have to touch the hangers but you cannot just slide off hangers and slide on, you can't even loosen, they make you take all way off, at least on the '10 GT was that way so the $75 was worth it that I could take lunch at work and get done and enjoy the weekend....and if like my neighborhood, most of them never work on their cars, so you are on your own installing.

I did my mine in the garage with some ramps to lift up the back end. After is it was all set and done the tips did not match each other. So I took it to a shop and got him to line them up. Long story short.... go to a shop.

I went to a run down muffler and brake shop. Looked very ghetto but they did good work. Installed my borla S-type for $50.
