Hey Andrew, you were right, i called Hurst, the boot is lower thus makes stick look taller, but the nice thing is once in, any 2 bolt Hurst shift arm can be used, the boot trick is, you remove the ring off original, slip the arm through boot, turn inside out and zip tie it around the rubber grommet...here's a advertise from their website, but it wil fit '11 V6 too.

"The new 2011 Ford Mustang GT packs a 5.0 punch! And Hurst’s new Billet/Plus 2 shifter for the 2011 Mustang GT packs a whopping 27% throw reduction and improves upon the mighty 5.0’s drive-line, with a new billet aluminum base housing and a spherical pivot bearing. Interchangeable upper stick will accept any Hurst stick with a two-bolt pattern. A redesigned, spring loaded reverse lock-out improves factory “push down” lock-out detent design.

Simple to install with classic Hurst stick and round ball combination, this is the MUST HAVE companion to your new 2011 Mustang GT. Feel the direct connection with your modern hot-rod through our shifter!"

Installed it today. Looks really awesome. It's very tall though and throws are pretty long, will have to see if I get use to it. I'm definitely quicker with my up shifts as even though the throws are longer, the increased leverage allows me to get into gears much easier. Feels less like stirring coal.

Sweet, but thinking of the burst as well although same height original, but as burst told me it will take any arms they stock, so there are options

Talked to Hurst today, 2 months or more before they release, discouraged pre ordering from anyone, and no need the take the bait on the extra brace under the car, they said, if they thought was needed, they would make one like barton, but not needed, save your 89.00, also the stick is 6 3/8 " long, the one that was in the '10 stangs was 7.5 " , so taking their lead, wait, and don't extend it cause it's design works best as is, with slight degree of tilt towards the cup holder, and slightly taller than stock.
