Default Help...Should I buy '08 GT/CS or'11 V6

Hello...I need to make a choice between 2008 GT/CS convert. with 18,000 miles($20,000) or 2011 V6 pony pkg./prem.int. convert. with 9,000 miles(28,000)(canadian prices). I test drove a V6 with 3.31 gears and it seemed sluggish below 3,000 RPM. Apparently, a tune helps, but will the GT still push you into the seat harder because of the extra torque? I'm looking for pros/cons of each to help me decide. It will be a regular driver(except in winter),but I'm retired so no commuting. Not sure if the V6 is missing torque or throttle response? I know the GT will be harder on fuel, but at 60 mph.,the V6 computer was only showing 26mpg.anyway...Thanks, Dan

Imo I would do the Gt/CS and mod it and go Fi. If you are worried about mileage buy a Fiesta

Plus you'll have a more warranty and newer goodies like sync. I was able to get my 11 v6 with premium pkg and 3.31 gears for $25K (US) brand new, so I think the v6 is a little overpriced. You may want to see what you can find leftover new on the lot since 2012s are out now. You may be able to get an equal or better deal buying a new 2011 v6.

for the prices you listed $20k for an 08 gt/cs vert is a steal, if its legit thats what I would go with. Similar power, slightly worse interior, and worse fuel economy, but for $8k less its still worth it.

if the v6 comp was showing a actual number like 26 then that's the avg it's done since last reset cuz our v6s don't show instant mpg, we get a bar system that shows instant mpg, and at 60mph the v6 should be doing at least 28mpg with 3.31s, 30ish with 2.73s

the v6 is sluggish under 3k i do agree with that but after that it hauls ***,
what are you looking for in the car, the gt will be slightly faster off the line but does get worse fuel Econ, plus which style do you prefer

I didn't catch the convertible part, sorry. I hate convertibles, good luck lol.

I still think the v6 is probably overpriced by a couple grand.

`11 is a better built car but it boils down to what you expect. Want low end grunt and the v8 exhaust sounds? Do you want the higher revving power of the new v6? These are very different driving cars under power with the v8 stronger on the low end and the v6 power comming on strong in the higher rpm`s.

Driven more gently, the v8 sounds are nice but the v6 gives you the better economy. Only you know which you really desire. Both will give you years of enjoyment.

I love vert`s!!!!
