Default If you're having trouble with rough shifts

Check your firmware and make sure it's up to date. Yesterday I returned my car to stock, updated my firmware, reloaded the tunes and BAM! It's running better than ever! Thanks for the help American Muscle!

Are there new tunes, or are you talking about the actual SCT firmware?

I'm talking about the SCT device updater. SCT's been making some serious adjustments to their software... but Bama did say they sent me the latest revised tunes, so they may be the new tunes too.

This is very interesting. Mike from BAMA has been working with me trying to smooth things out but has not been totally successful. I bought my tuner in January. Has there been a firmware update since? Should I upgrade?

I see that you must return the car to stock first before upgrading the device, then just simply reflash?

I'll run this by Mike, If any AM/BAMA folks are listening, could you add input on this? I've been battling this for months and would really like a solution.

I'm not sure when they changed it.. but in the top left corner of your SCT Updater it should have 4 numbers... (2.9.7.2). I was using new tunes with the old Firmware which is what cause my rough shifts. I hope this helps you

My tuner, purchased Jan of 2011 had version 2.6 of the SCT device updater installed the current version 2.9.7.2. Also my firmware was 1.2.123 the update brought it to 1.2.126.

I was told to wait for new tunes to come tomorrow. Can't wait, I've really not enjoyed my car all that much for the last 3 months due to the harsh shifting. Just hope that 3 months of this abuse hasn't damaged anything!

I'll post my findings tomorrow.

Great! I was going to PM you if you didn't hop into this thread. I remember we had similar issues. After loading the new tunes I noticed an immediate difference in shifting. You will still feel a little jump, but not nearly as bad as before. The shifting has even become smoother as the week has progressed. I enjoy driving my stang again
