I'm flabergasted they didn't bill you once they found out it was an aftermarket part that caused the issue.

see what I did there?

First, I'm surprised it took them that long. Then I'm also surprised you couldn't figure it out on your own. Always pay attention to things before and after a change you make, generally things don't just start happening without a cause.

Hey, the first thing I asked them to check was the muffler hangers. Service tech said there was no problem, no rubbing. I gave them a laundry list of thing to check, including suggestions from posts on this site. Either they ignored me or they just didn't know what the hell they were doing. My car sat for at lease 3 weeks in the back of their lot. No evidence they did anything to it except take out my back seat and carpeting. But they did put 560 miles on my car "test driving" it.

thats unfortunate, I would find a new dealership to go to from now on. Also, make a complaint against the dealership; driving 500 miles with nothing conclusive is unacceptable.

Believe me, I will never go to that dealership again. That's a shame because I had a really good buying experience there. Ford Customer Care just sent me a customer satisfaction survey. I ripped the dealership but said I am not disappointed in Ford products at this point. Dealership has yet to follow up to see if the squeak problem has returned. They just don't give a crap!
