V6 any regrets??
#13
I have a 2012 V6 manual, no regrets here. I rented a V6 automatic and hated it.
The first thing I did on mine is get some 18"x9" wheels, that really changed the way it handles. I prefer the V6, they are lighter in the front, handle slightly better, and corner really well. I drive a lot of curvy roads, this car is a blast in the corners, with plenty of power to get back up to speed.

I don't know if I will have regrets I just went from a coupe v6 to a GT vert.. a brand new 2011 was sitting on the lot with 120miles on it.. more than 10000$ shaved of the base price.. it's a 401a trim (with black leather and cashmere) + navigation + camera

OP, I'll start by first answering your question.... I have absolutely NO regrets with the v6. If I coulda afforded the 8, sure, I woulda went that route. But I couldn't, so I didn't, and Im still happy as can be.
As for those people that talk down on a v6 in a mustang...... Im one of them The wife and I could be riding down the road, I see a stang, then say "ahhhh its just a v6". She responds with "whats wrong with a v6??" Lmao, I've been in that train of thought for so long, I still talk bad about 6'ers, and I OWN ONE!
*Disclaimer* There is absolutely nothing wrong with owning/driving a 3.8/4.0, I've just always been a "v8 guy", but the 3-7 happened to wet my performance whistle.
I guess my point is, is firstly don't worry about what anyone says. When I tell people it has the v6, its immediatly followed by "but it runs its *** off, you'd be surprised", so I need to practice what I preach. But once you start talking hp/track numbers to someone who knows about performance, then you will get the satisfaction of talking about how GOOD the lil ol v6 runs
EDIT: Well hell, I type out this long stupid post, THEN read the 2nd page, lmao!! Congrats on the new ride, hope it treats ya well!

v8 is awsome the insurance sucks for one .but worth it ,the v6 is competive but the v8 has alot better transmission and sounds alot nicer than the v6 ,dont get me wrong i love both cars if i had the option to buy either one i go with the v8 all the way

No regrets here. I drove both and while the v8 is impressive and easy to get all liquored up on, the reality is that you will never use that power. The v6 gets 30+ mpg, is plenty fast out of the box, can be had for $20k if you shop around, and for about $1200 in aftermarket parts you can get near GT level performance.

V8 > V6
But in the end you are buying American instead of a ricebox, so you are full of win if you get any mustang. Besides, down the line I see another 4 banger mustang happening, and if they do it right (6 speed, ~250 horse and LSD) I'll get one. I won't ever be able to afford a new V8 stang, they are becoming more and more the rich mans toy.

Yes. I do regret the V6 purchase for one reason. I am a former owner of 2 1970 Boss 302's and didn't think I could stand the ADM of the new ones. Now MSRP and soon below sticker.
I procharged, headers, high flow cats and X pipe, gears, control arms, watts link, shifter, driveshaft and 3 appearance mods and am thinking about selling my 2011 V6 PP car.
The car handles great and is a very low 12 second car, possibly high 11's although I have never raced it. (I am comparing to others with a similar set up)
It may be as fast as the Boss? Maybe a little bit quicker? who knows.
