I went through the same thing not long ago. In the end I went with the Amsoil Signature series (25k miles or 12 months). I spent about $140 for 2 years worth of oil and filters, plus Preferred Customer Status and shipping. Amsoil has a service like Blackstone where you can send in your oil for analyses, I haven't sent mine in yet but with the preferred customer service thing I think it cost $25 to get your oil checked. Anyways I spent way to much time on the whole thing, I also looked at the BJ products and found a shop around the corner that has the BG products. In the end I liked the Amsoil more, I like the salesman who sold me the goods. I don't have anything earth shattering to tell you, thee is tons of stuff about RP and Amsoil and Redline, I am sure they are all good.
I would tell you to keep one thing in mind, each company makes more then one product for your motor, make sure you are comparing apples and and apples. Last I checked some of the Mobil 1 is pure synthetic and some isn't and it seemed to me the labeling on the packages seemed misleading if make a distinction between dyno based synthetic and synthetic made from scratch.
I liked the fact that the Amsoil and RP had more friction fighter in them. Add to that the film strength and total base number, I thought those were clinchers.
Good luck
