The glue is heat activated and a heat gun and some patience should peal it off

I just used my hand to roll of the adhesive then took water and scrubbed the then later left off. Wasn't bad at all but maybe I just got lucky

Mine is pretty stiff as well, it may loosen up over time, I know in the two weeks I've owned my 2012 the drivers door has loosened significantly. The passenger door and trunk are still difficult though.

I noticed my driver door is easy to slam. If I am not careful it really closes hard.
