Default sct hand held tuner

I have a sct tuner for my car, but I would like to know if I can use it for checking engine codes on the mustang and can I use it on my ranger for engine codes too?

Can't answer about the SCT, but you can get an OBD 2 bluetooth scanner for about $20 on ebay that should be able to read codes on both vehicles. With the free Torque app you can check codes and view vehicle data realtime on a bluetooth phone, tablet, or pc/laptop. I've updated my B&N nook color to another android OS, and enabled the bluetooth there to read codes and check engine operating conditions. It picks up the data on my Mustang, Tacoma, and Accord with no problems.

One of the guys on Android Forums (LG Esteem) was talking about the OBD 2 Bluetooth set up and the Torque ap, he had nothing but good things to say about it. I get it on my list of things to acquire. That is a smoken deal, I know I spent way more than that for hand held scanner on sale and I doubt it can do near as much.
