transmission hum
Hi all-- I am cruising at 2100 on the tach in my 2012 automatic coupe,3.31 rear end, 900 miles on the odo. If i give it just a little more gas, I get this hum. If I continue to give it gas, the hum stays the same, as my speed increases. If I decrease the gas slightly, the hum goes away. The hum appears at about 2100 rpm and stays as long as the rpms are at least 2100. I can make the hum appear and disappear just my slightly increasing or decreasing the gas pedal. This hum is annoying. I have checked the tires. There is no vibration accompanying the hum. Any ideas as to how to get rid of it?

New data--car in neutral, 2100 rpm, hum is gone
engine at 2100 rpm, turn car off going down the road, hum gone
car at 2100 rpm, turn wheel slightly left or right, hum still there
car at 2100 rpm, slowly increase speed, hum tone gets higher

I get the same thing. A slight hum/vibration when acceleration slightly. Mostly felt from moving from a stop.
I recently had my tranny replaced, I wonder if it's related to that or maybe it was always there and now I'm assuming its connected?
I think it's some sort of resonance vibration, maybe coming off a heat shield or exhaust?

Different resonances will show up between 2100 and 2700 on my V6PP depending on throttle and load. They typically sound like a major hummmm. It seems like exhaust to me. Kind of annoying. With 6 different gears, I just grab a different one. If a different set of mufflers or pipes would def fix it, I could see buying them just for that reason alone.
